USB Type C...The future port...

Now a days Laptops are almost 13 mm(millimeter) thin, and they are becoming thinner. The thickest part of laptop contain USB port. It required more than 7.5 mm space and obviously its fitting with motherboard demand more space and then the body of laptop so we can say that 13 mm is the thinnest laptop we expect with a standard USB port.

USB type C greatly reduces the thickness of Laptops. It is just little thicker than USB mini port, but way faster. Theoretically (I have not tested it yet) its almost as fast as USB 3.1, may be more.

I am expecting it in next generation Laptops, tabs, smartphones etc. Apple already placed it in its Macbooks. It is also coming in smart devices. HTC announced it next HTC ONE models with type C port.

The greatest advantage is that its has same port on both sides and it has symmetrical shape so you do not have to flip it while plugging it in. it is compatible with Standard USB port and USB 3.1 port.

I am expecting it to replace power ports. Apple laptops uses 29 watt power supply, and most laptops comes with 85-125 watt power supply. USB type C can produce up to 100 watts so it will replace many chargers may be with little modification all of them. It charges smartphones way faster than normal charging.
